Hunting and Fishing
Hunting and Fishing within Seaside Falls is regulated to help manage the population of wildlife in the area. This page details your responsibilities in taking natural resources. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in your hunting or fishing license being revoked or in in-character legal consequences.
Fishing
Fishing within Seaside Falls is regulated by the Department of Fish and Wildlife, and enforced by the Game Wardens and Rangers of Shady Pines Ranger Station.
The following section details your responsibilities while fishing our waters.
Licensing
In order to fish legally in the Seaside Falls area, you must be in possession of a current fishing license. This can be obtained at Shady Pines Ranger Station. You must have your license on your person while fishing, as you may be requested to show proof of licensing. Failure to present your fishing license on request to Wardens may result in on-the-spot fines.
Take Limits
Certain species of fish have take limits, which is the maximum number of fish of that species you may take. If you practice catch and release fishing, you are not required to report your take, however, we do appreciate you sharing catch information with us to help us better understand the fish population of our area.
Reporting
If you do not release the fish after catching it, you are required to report which species, and how many of each species, you have caught. You may do this by filling in a fishing form, which you can acquire at the Shady Pines Ranger Station on the front desk, and placing it in the mail box at the back corner of the shop in Shady Pines Ranger Station.
Fishing
To add a little challenge to your fishing trips, consider using the dice provided in the Welcome area of Seaside Falls to roll for your success. We suggest using the following guide:
25: You catch a fish
24-20: You get a bite, and manage to set the hook, but the fish gets off the hook or snaps the line before you bring it in.
19-10: You get a bite, but don't manage to set the hook.
9-0: You don't get a bite.

Licensing
In order to hunt legally in the Seaside Falls area, you must be in possession of a current hunting license. This can be obtained at Shady Pines Ranger Station. This license must be on your person at the time of hunting. Failure to furnish evidence of a valid hunting license, and related tags, may result in charges of poaching.
Take Limits
Certain species of animal have take limits, which is the maximum number of animals of that species you may take. Deer: 1 per deer tag Bear: 1 per year Elk: 1 per elk tag Pronghorn antelope: 1 per tag Bighorn sheep: 1 per tag Wild pig: Unlimited Duck: 2 per day with bird validation Game bird: 2 per day with bird validation
Reporting
You are required to report the results of your hunting trip regardless of success. If you do not manage to take any game, you must file an unsuccessful hunt report within one month of the end of that hunting season. In all other cases, you must report the number taken on the day of the hunt. You may be required to present evidence to the Ranger Station. You may obtain forms for hunting from the front desk of the Shady Pines Ranger Station shop. To report your hunting activity, please place it in the mail box at the back corner of the shop in Shady Pines Ranger Station.
